Can multiple designers work together to submit one design?

- Yes, it is acceptable to work in teams of designers, no limit on number of participants. Please participate to represent one company.

 

Is there an entry fee to participate in the competition?

- No, there is no entry fee.

 

Why isn't there an AutoCAD file available on the Documents page?

- The website softward cannot recognize a .dwg file. Please email ChelseyG@specialspaces.org to obtain the CAD file.

 

Do I need to use a computer to render the floorplan and elevations?

- No, you can use whatever medium you are comfortable with. If you decide to render by hand, you must scan the images in to submit your entry via email.

 

What if I don't know how to use or don't have PowerPoint?

- That's okay - you can submit your deliverables (design statement, inspirational images, furniture selections, rendered floorplan and rendered elevations) in any way that you are comfortable with. The template is provided for you convenience. You may also choose to create (1) 24x36 board.

 

How do I submit my design?

What if I cannot complete my design by the deadline (Thursday, April 03)?

- Unfortunately, this is the absolute deadline to get your design to the BRS. 

 

Who will see my design for Eli's Dream Bedroom?

- When you register for the competition, you are agreeing to allow Special Spaces Minneapolis and BATC Foundation to share your design for Eli's Dream Bedroom Makeover, along with your name and your company name, on our web pages and social media.

 

If my design wins, what are the responsibilities and time commitment required?

- Special Spaces will contact you directly if you win. Special Spaces will coordinate meetings and/or conference calls as required to coordinate final design decisions and purchasing. You and your company will be asked to volunteer for installation at the family's home on May 31. 

 

My company has resources to provide materials, furniture, etc. as a donation and would like to donate to Eli's Room. How can I help?

- Please email ChelseyG@SpecialSpaces.org and Perri@BATC.org to explain what you would like to provide. Based on the final design solution and the need, we will keep you informed if we can take you up on your offer.
